Bushtit – 400 x 400

I’ve started a new project that I’m excited about. I’m calling it 400×400, creating some type of painting, drawing, sketch within the dimensions of 400×400 pixels. Simply put, it’s going to allow me to be more creative and get back to some of my artistic roots, while keeping a structure that I need to stay focused. Read more…

Hangtown

I help out my uncle with some t-shirt, event pass artwork each year for Hangtown, a motorcross event in Northern California. This year I decided to do an illustration and not just Photoshop an existing photo. I used a pinup image I found online for reference as I was on a one day time crunch. My fault, not his. But, I think it came out pretty cool. Hopefully it will produce well on the shirts. Read more…

So, tomorrow marks the first day of Moustache May and my lip coat has already been growing for 1.5 months. Truthfully, it’s starting to bug me a bit, but I’m going to be strong. In honor of this glorious month, we are having a “Moustache Bash” on Saturday. I made this little invite for the party Read more…

The first stage of the new design is in place. I often have a habit of being too picky with my personal work. I will work on them for awhile,  get bored and start over before it ever sees the light of day. I didn’t want that to happen this time, so I’m trying something new. I’m actually launching the design before it’s done.

This will allow me to wrap up the details as I go instead of forcing myself to accomplish everything before launch. It’s not something I ever do with client work, but personal work is always a little different. There are many, many things I want to add and adjust, but I wanted to get this design up and live before it was in the trash.

This will be my first time working with Wordpress as well. There are a multitude of options and plugins at my disposal so I expect things to change quite often for awhile. Over the past 4 years, I’ve been pretty spoiled at my job. We have a proprietary system that uses a great template engine, so I don’t have to wade through much PHP to get my designs in place. Since Wordpress doesn’t use the same method, I’m back to being forced to integrating the HTML along with the PHP. This isn’t something I’m incapable of doing, just not something I’m fond of.

I’m sure there will be errors, or even missing pages, and if you notice anything shoot me an email and let me know. Otherwise, stay tuned for more content and hopefully great things!
