Came across this website today and I love it. I used to be an Illustrator junkie but haven’t had the opportunity to play in it as much as I used to. That’s just an excuse because I’m sure I can make time, it just never works out that way. Until I can get back to the glory days of making adorable characters all afternoon, why not swing over there and check out some great work?

Blood, Sweat, Vector

So it’s obvious, well since I’m the only one who looks at this website, to me anyway, that I haven’t updated anything for a bit. I’ve actually been super busy recently, and lazy to boot. I’ve been swamped with work so I haven’t been doing much personal work and have been trying to spend time away from my computer to enjoy the real world. Here are a few of the things that have kept me busy:

• House Hunting (and waiting on banks to make decisions)

While things are keeping me busy, I’m pretty satisfied with how everything is turning out. As always, I’m planning on getting more up here, but who knows? You’ll see it, when I see it.

I have quite a collection of old vector artwork that never went anywhere, so I’ve decided to dust them off and put them up on iStock. There are allot of unfinished illustrations that I need to wade through and cleanup before they are ready for purchase, but I’ve started that process. I don’t expect this to replace my real job, but why not put them up and make a little extra beer money? Exactly.

I’ve started a new project that I’m excited about. I’m calling it 400×400, creating some type of painting, drawing, sketch within the dimensions of 400×400 pixels. I help out my uncle with some t-shirt, event pass artwork each year for Hangtown, a motorcross event in Northern California. This year I decided to do an illustration and not just Photoshop an existing photo. I used a pinup image I found online for reference as I was on a one day time crunch. My fault, not his. But, I think it came out pretty cool. Hopefully it will produce well on the shirts. Read more…
